
We are excited to be offering the Watkins Enrichment Program with online registration! Spring session will begin on February 20 and run each Thursday from 4:15-5:15 pm. The last class will be on March 26.
Registration will begin on Monday, January 27. Please understand that some classes have a maximum number of students they can accommodate. Get your registration in soon to have the best chance of getting your first choice!
Please look over all the class information below and then click the button at the bottom of the page for the registration form. Remember – registration will end on February 5. In order to give class instructors time to prepare and purchase materials, we need to give them final numbers. We cannot accept late registrations.

Tree Climbing & Team Building with Riverside Outfitters
Kids love to climb trees – let them do it safely! Climbing elements are based on arborist style tree climbing and high ropes activities. Kids are harnessed in and belayed by an instructor while climbing. They will take turns climbing while the rest of the group plays games and does other outdoor activities. The program focuses on confidence building, trust, nature conservation, and FUN!

School of Rock: Rookies
Rookies is a music program designed for children with no previous musical experience. As with all our music programs, Rookies adheres to School of Rock’s core philosophy—performance-based music education is the best way for students to gain musical proficiency. Rookies students learn music fundamentals like chords, rhythm and song structure. Kids get to learn and experiment with multiple instruments so they are then able to decide which one they ultimately want to learn.

School of Rock: Rock 101
Rock 101 is one of School of Rock’s major programs for kids and beginners. It combines our core philosophy of performance-based music education with a unique curriculum designed for kids with no previous musical experience. Students have one weekly group rehearsal where they learn classic rock songs that have been simplified specifically for beginner musicians. These rehearsals get young musicians to learn foundational music skills and concepts, as well as, the fundamentals of musical instruments while playing with a band in a positive and fun atmosphere.

**FULL** KID FABulous Art
Join our professional art instructors as we bring our FABulous, Abrakadoodle art program to Watkins Elementary this winter! In this class, everything we create is “FAB”- Fun And Beautiful! We will explore watercolor techniques, colorful papers, 3D art and perspective. Kids will design FUN art featuring unique masks, fish that grow and even lovable minions. They will create BEAUTIFUL art as we practice eastern techniques for folding and cutting paper in unique ways, paint tonal gradations, learn to crop images and they will learn to invent their own designs! We will ask students to let their creativity flow as we create KID FABulous Art!

Yoga & Mindfulness
Yoga is an ancient healing practice known to calm both body, and mind. This playful yoga class is especially crafted for elementary aged-children. Children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises. Yoga can help calm the mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives. Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class. Each class ends with a period of relaxation and song. Children will be provided with their very own yoga mat.

Code Ninjas
Code Ninjas Camp is dedicated to providing a fun learning environment that will use the official Scratch.MIT.edu website to teach advanced coding concepts and how it will relate to JavaScript. After completion of this camp your child will be already on their way to advanced coding conceptual knowledge!

Challenge Island: Disaster Island
(inspired by a popular children’s book series)
Disaster Island will take your tribe on a thrilling STEAM adventure through some of the most famous disasters in history! From the eruption of Mt Vesuvius to the sinking of the Titanic to the Great San Francisco Earthquake, you and your tribemates will work together to overcome epic challenges using only the materials in your treasure chest and the power of your imagination. TGA Tennis
TGA makes it convenient and fun for your child to learn and play tennis right on their school campus! Our proprietary curriculum for elementary school was created by TGA’s education experts and the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Bricks 4 Kidz®: Space Adventures
Many children dream of being an astronaut and traveling to space. Join Bricks 4 Kidz as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Each week students will learn about real-life space exploration and build a new space model using our specialty LEGO® Technic Brick kits and motors. From NASA astronaut centrifuge training and shuttle lift off to exploring the moon’s surface in a lunar rover and building a robot, our builders will have a blast! Each student will build and take home a custom LEGO mini astronaut figure.

CORDCRAFT provides a retro artisan experience. Using cords and other textile fibers, students create their own handcrafted masterpiece at each class. A round LANTERN that lights up is one of the projects! Multiple color choices for most projects.

Enrichment classes never tasted so good! Our classes are one hour long and students prepare three to four recipes per class. Our trained chefs provide step-by-step, age appropriate, hands-on instruction for your kids, which makes learning to cook real food fun for everyone!
Magical & Mysterious: Learn how to cook with science during Edible Education’s Magical and Mysterious cooking class! Students will be making Yeast Pretzels, Homemade Butter, and many more fun recipes involving science!
