Are you interested in recycling, gardening, or starting other green initiatives? We hope you will consider joining the J.B. Watkins Green Team! There are a lot of ways of being involved and no time commitment is necessary.

Last year, the Green Team launched a lunchroom recycling program, which will resume a few weeks into the start of school. Parent volunteers are needed to help support this effort by volunteering with Lunch Buddies to help teach students how to sort out recyclable materials from their lunch waste.

The Green Team is also responsible for three gardens around school property, as well as the planter boxes. We welcome other “green” ideas, such as organizing a park clean-up day or developing resources and projects to teach students how to care about the environment.
